The body is designed to hold survival as its first priority. Survival in its most basic terms is keeping the body breathing, and being able to run away from danger.

The brain sends information to and from the body along the nerves so that it knows exactly what is happening in the body. Nerves don’t just go to the joints and muscles, but to all the organs as well.

Unfortunately the posture a body needs to be in to be able to breathe and run, can affect the flow of information along the nerves to other organs, muscles and joints.

Because good breathing and healthy hips are your body’s priority, compromise to their function, and symptoms arising from them, are mostly the last thing you will experience.

Instead, the symptoms of other areas with a decrease in function due to a compromised nerve supply are the things we complain about.

Recognising the reasons for, and the effects of incorrect posture on your nervous system enables us to best address the underlying concern, and maximize your body’s health.
